The date of 80 September 2016 is a historical for this regiment as 15 jawans of this regiment lost their lives in the sector of Jammu and Kashmir in combat of the intruders from the Pakistani border. A total of 17 soldiers were martyred in the attack on the Indian army camp located in Orissa sector out of which maximum 15 were from Bihar regiment. Six of them were of Bihar origin.

Not only people of Bihar are elected in this regiment just the name of this regiment is Bihar regiment because historical it started from the district of Bihar.
80 सितंबर 2016 की तारीख इस रेजिमेंट के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक है क्योंकि इस रेजिमेंट के 15 जवानों ने पाकिस्तानी सीमा से घुसपैठियों का मुकाबला करने में जम्मू-कश्मीर के सेक्टर में अपनी जान गंवा दी। उड़ीसा सेक्टर में स्थित भारतीय सेना के कैंप पर हुए हमले में कुल 17 सैनिक शहीद हुए थे, जिनमें से अधिकतम 15 बिहार रेजिमेंट के थे। उनमें से छह बिहार मूल के थे।
इस रेजिमेंट में न केवल बिहार के लोगों का चयन किया जाता है, बल्कि इस रेजिमेंट का नाम बिहार रेजिमेंट भी है क्योंकि यह बिहार के जिले से शुरू हुई थी।

When there was a terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008 major Sandeep Unnikrishnan of NSG was martyred in operation black tornado. In ASI major Unnikrishnan belong to Bihar regiment who was sent to energy on deputation to Bihar. the Bihar regiment had created history in the Kargil war before battling terror attacks in Mumbai.

Captain Gurjinder Singh Suri who was martyred in Kargil was awarded Mahavir Chakra and Mata major Mariappan Saravanan with Vir Chakra in the memory of 80 Martyrs a memorial was built in Kargil at Kargil Chowk near Gandhi maidan in Patna.
मेजर उन्नीकृष्णन मुंबई में शहीद हुए थे

जब 2008 में मुंबई में आतंकवादी हमला हुआ था, तब एनएसजी के प्रमुख संदीप उन्नीकृष्णन ऑपरेशन ब्लैक बवंडर में शहीद हो गए थे। एएसआई प्रमुख उन्नीकृष्णन बिहार रेजिमेंट के हैं जिन्हें बिहार में प्रतिनियुक्ति पर भेजा गया था। बिहार रेजिमेंट ने मुंबई में आतंकी हमलों से लड़ने से पहले कारगिल युद्ध में इतिहास रचा था।

जुलाई 1999 में कारगिल युद्ध में बलिदान

कारगिल में शहीद हुए कैप्टन गुरजिंदर सिंह सूरी को पटना के गांधी मैदान के पास कारगिल चौक पर कारगिल में 80 शहीदों की स्मृति में वीर चक्र के साथ महावीर चक्र और माता प्रमुख मारपीप्पन सरवनन से सम्मानित किया गया।
